Learning at Yarnings
Beginner: Knows the long tail cast on, knit, purl and bind off. For crocheting, knows single, half double, and double crochet stitches along with the slipstitch.
Advanced Beginner: Knows shaping, seaming and has followed some patterns and understands gauge.
Intermediate: Has completed a garment and has done some stitch work.
And, remember, we ask that Yarnings supplies be used in Yarnings classes. It only makes sense!
Private Lessons
We at Yarnings want you to find a learning environment that matches your style. Our private lessons are inexpensive and offer a one-on-one session with one of our talented and friendly instructors. These times can be tailored to your needs: beginning knitting or crochet, help finishing a particular project, help starting a project, help with a specific technique- it's all up to you! Call us to set up a time for you or a time for you and a friend!

Friday Morning Knit Group – Bring along any knitting project for a little help while socializing with others. If you know in advance that you plan to attend this group, please call the store to let us know.

Tuesday Morning Knit Group This group meets weekly for help and inspiration. Join others who enjoy chatting and sharing projects.

Chunky Hat Class- Students will knit a cozy winter hat in this one-session class using large needles and fun, chunky yarn. Gifts just waiting to happen!

Felted Slippers- In this class, knitters will make a top-down stocking with an afterthought heel. Knit in doubled yarn on a size 13 needle, these slippers will be ready in time to keep you warm this winter. Use a single color or make them two-toned, then watch the "magic" of felting.

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner
Hatvent- Join us for a two-session class to make a festive holiday garland of mini hats. Working with double-pointed needles, knitters will make up to seven hats to be used singly as gift toppers or ornaments, or together as a garland. Pom poms will also be made in class to top the hats.

Pressed Flowers Shawl- In this three-session class, we will learn and explore mosaic knitting while knitting this pretty floral design. Mosaic knitting is an easy color work technique that uses slipped stitches to create a design.
Cost: $45
