 Learnings at Yarnings

 

 

 

Beginner: Knows the long tail cast on, knit, purl and bind off. For crocheting, knows single, half double, and double crochet stitches along with the slipstitch.

 

Advanced Beginner: Knows shaping, seaming and has followed some patterns and understands gauge.

 

Intermediate: Has completed a garment and has done some stitch work. 

 

And, remember, we ask that Yarnings supplies be used in Yarnings classes. It only makes sense!

 

 

 

Groups
 

 

Friday Morning Knit Group – Bring along any knitting project for a little help while socializing with others. If you know in advance that you plan to attend this group, please call the store to let us know.

 

Cost:                                                    $10.00 per Session

 

Time/Date/Instructor:             Fridays, Jan 6,20,27 and Feb 3,10,17,24 from 11-1 with Sandra

 

Skill Level:                                        Beginner to Intermediate

 

Saturday Morning Knit Group – This group usually meets twice a month and is for beginner to intermediate level knitters. Students get help with projects they have chosen while socializing with other knitters. Please call the store to check on available spots for this class.

 

Cost:                                               $10.00 per Session

Skill Level:                                   Beginner /Intermediate

Classes

 

Advanced Brioche- Knitters will build on their basic knowledge of brioche stitch by working traveling stitches in the round in this two-session class The project is a choice of a hat or cowl.

Cost:  $30

 

Time/Date/Instructor:  Saturdays, January 28 and February 4 from 11-12:30 with Margaret

 

Skill Level:  Intermediate   

 

Beginning Weaving- This four-part beginning course includes instruction in warping, weaving techniques, calculations for sizing and yarn usage, color planning, and finishing.  The cost includes rental of the 15" Cricket loom, instruction, and the first warp of the loom.

Cost:                                        $70

Skill Level:                             Absolute Beginner

 

Bead Weaving-  Join us for an introductory bead weaving class!  The class includes preparation of a bead loom, basic patterning and finishing while working on a beautiful bracelet.

 

Cost:                                           $40

 

Times/Dates/Instructor:    Saturdays, February 11 from 1-3:30 and 18  from 1-2 with Steph

 

Skill Level:                                Beginner 

 

Granny Squares- Learn to crochet granny squares in this two-part class.  You can make a handful for a cute pillow or dozens for a small blanket.  Some crochet experience (chain, single crochet) is helpful but not required.

 

Cost:                                          $35

 

Times/Dates/Instructor:   Fridays, February 17 and 24 from 1:30-3:30

 

Skill Level:                               Advanced Beginner

 

 

Lop Ear Bunny- In this three-part class, knitters will make an adorable bunny, complete with fabric lined ears.  Knitters will knit and seam the bunny

Cost:                                           $45

Skill Level:                               Advanced Beginner

 

       

Lots of Socks-  Have you always wanted to try sock knitting?  This is your chance!  This beginner class will take you through the basics of a classic sock from the cast on, the heel turn, foot shaping, and grafting of the toe seam.  Prepare to be addicted!

Cost:                                             $40

Skill Level:                                Advanced Beginner

 

 

Magic Loop- If you've always wanted try an alternative to double points, now is your chance!  Learn the magic loop method while making a little scarf.

Cost:                                              $30
